I hope you’re having a great week. I’m in freak-out mode right now because I’m finishing a big kitchen painting job, while also trying to finish my master bathroom for the Calling it Home’s One Room Challenge. I predicted that I would be in the fetal position with a bottle of wine by the time it’s all said and done, and I’m afraid my prediction may very well come true. The reality that this space needs to be done next week is hitting hard.
In keeping with my indecisive painting journey, I through another curve ball into the mix this week when I went on the hunt for a rug for the master bathroom. I made the trip to Bargains and Buyouts last week, hoping to score something amazing at a low, low price.
They had some amazing rugs, just none in the size that I needed.
This beauty caught my eye – would be great if it were smaller!
This Greek key beauty had me at hello. It was only $70, people. Seven, zero. I had to convince myself not to buy it.
In the smaller sizes, there were some pretty rugs, just none that fit the bill for me.
I had secretly hoped I might score some lighting down here as well.
I love these, they’re just not what I’m looking for in our master bathroom.
A single, solo polished chrome sconce. For just $15.00.
Of course, you can’t go to Bargains and Buyouts without checking out other furniture items, right? Love this spindle chair.
A pretty dresser –
Or a cool, retro-inspired couch?
I loved their signage as you walk in the door. Truer words have never been spoken.
On my way home, I was passing the Ballard Outlet, and my girlfriend convinced me to stop, even though I had just been there a couple weeks ago. I’m so glad I did!
Hello, 50% off rug sale.
Pretty, but the wrong size.
My photo doesn’t do this rug justice. It was a contender.
Until I found this. I had seen this rug in the Ballard catalog and loved it, so I knew it had to be mine. And it was, for just $65. Hooray!
Then I get home, only to discover that it’s a great color match for the primer color I had used on my cabinets – Urbane Bronze. With all I had been through with painting this vanity, already making one color change, do I change it again?
Here it is against the black.
I decided to stick with the black, even though my initial reaction was to repaint it in the Urbane Bronze. I had to stop the madness.
I have more surprises in store, but you’ll just have to wait until next week for the full reveal. In the meantime, let’s admire my cabinet farm that I have growing in my basement for this gorgeous two-toned gray kitchen I’m finishing (my other One Room Challenge, if you will). Here is a before shot of the kitchen (gorgeous already, I know).
My cabinet farm:
And the gorgeous money shot of the Gauntlet Gray that’s going on the lower cabinets.

See you next week – looking forward to some great reveals!
