I hope you’re as excited as I am to kick off the 2019 Holiday Tour of Homes! I’m so happy to partner up with Christy and Amy at 11 Magnolia Lane to share this tour with all of you. We have 30 uber-talented bloggers participating this year, and we’re doing things a little bit differently, with a different featured room each day. Today we’re starting on the outside of the house with front porches and outdoor spaces.
While my day is on Friday, I’m going to join in on this one and share a peek at my front porch. I was totally inspired by some gorgeous winter porch pots at a local nursery, and got to work to make some for my own home. They’re so simple, and create such a high end look. As a bonus, they carry through well beyond the Christmas holiday, which I really love.
Holiday Porch Pots for Outdoor Decorating
Check out this stunning design. I love how it’s elevated in a pedestal type design. Talk about a high impact look.
These beauties are quite stunning as well, and more along the style that I have made for my home.
Are you a fan of window boxes? We have a porch box design too!
I’m leaning towards a more natural, understated look for the outside this year. So I opted for a mix of greenery, birch logs, decorative twigs, pine cones and a couple of ornaments thrown in for a little bit of bling. If you want to make some winter porch pots for your home, check out my full tutorial here.
Fresh Wreaths for the Front Door
As we move toward the front door, you can see that my wreaths are also on the natural side – the Blended Bay Wreath – with lush greenery and pretty pinecones as well. I bought these from Lynch Creek Farm, and love how substantial they are, and they smell amazing. They always last me through the winter, and make our front doors look so sharp.
You can see that our front doors are arched, so traditional wreath holders won’t work. So, I use heavy duty Command Hooks to hold them up, and they do the trick!
Call me crazy, but I’ve always wanted double front doors, and I love dressing them up for the holidays.
