2019 Holiday Home Tour – Our Master Bedroom

If you’re hopping over from 11 Magnolia Lane, welcome! It’s the last day of the 2019 Holiday Home Tour, and I’m sharing some bedroom spaces in my home today.  Last year I shared my daughter’s bedroom, but this year, I’m sharing our master bedroom and one of my middle son’s room.  His room is shareable since he’s away at college, so I might as well take advantage while I can, right?  He’ll be home in a week, and it will go back to that “lived in” look.  This post contains some affiliate links.

Our Master Bedroom

You might remember that I got a wild hair to paint our bedroom recently, although I haven’t yet shared the room with you.  The wall color I chose is Collingwood by Benjamin Moore.  It’s a big change from Sherwin Williams’ Mineral Deposit (a great tranquil blue), but it definitely works with the other changes that we made.  I was hoping our new carpet would be installed in time for my tour, but alas, no.  We have to wait until the 19th.  But you still get to see a lot of the changes – bonus that it’s a holiday tour also.

I kept the touches in our master bedroom relatively simple and understated (aside from a Christmas tree in our room – I guess that’s not very understated as a general rule).  I added some greenery with these pretty faux cedar wreaths on the wall from Target (thank you, Joanna Gaines), and then some fresh evergreens next to the bed.

Master Bedroom Holiday Tour

The duvet is the Jordana Paisley duvet from Pottery Barn, and I changed things up a bit by adding a coverlet from Nate Berkus’ collection to the bed as well.  And yes, those side table lamps are the same ones that I have in my dining room (also from Target).  I tried them out in here, and I love them so much, I’m going to order two more.  They’re just the right size, and I love the color and texture to them.  While my husband gets frustrated with the “blanket situation” at night, I really love how it looks all made up during the day.

2019 Holiday Home Tour

The two navy and white Ralph Lauren pillows on the bed are new finds from HomeGoods (although you can also find them here on Wayfair).  I’ve been on the hunt for new throw pillows for our bedroom and family room, and these could serve double duty if I don’t go back and try to snatch up more of them.  They’re just what I’ve been looking for!

We bought our bed from Frontgate Oulet a few years ago, and I have to tell you, I love it now as much as I did then.  I had been searching for the right one for years and this one made my heart skip a beat when I spotted it.  The curves and size are just perfect in our bedroom.

Our little tree in here stands in the corner, and gives off such a pretty glow at night.  I just love that about Christmas trees, don’t you?  The light is just right.  I added some navy wired ribbon, white, blue and silver ornaments to it, and it’s just enough, plus it coordinates well with our bedding.

I keep adding trees to our house, and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s out of hand.  But it sure looks pretty!

A Festive Teen Room

A quick peek at my son’s room (while it’s still clean enough for public viewing).  His room already lends itself to festive decorating.  With the gray walls and bedding, coupled with the wood tones, it just cries out for holiday touches.

I picked up the “Fresh Cut Christmas Trees” sign at a local outdoor show (similar to the Country Living Fair).  With the addition of some pretty pillows and a throw blanket to the bed, and called it a day.  But could this room use a Christmas tree?  I definitely think so.  To be honest, I had a small, potted live tree that I was going to put in here, but when it rang up for almost $70, I decided that was a wake up call, put it back, and joined a 12-step program for Christmas tree addicts.

The long lumbar pillow in here seems to be fitting, as I’m really looking forward to having everyone home over the holidays.

If you’re still Christmas shopping, check out my gift guide for some of my favorite things (with the help of my best girlfriends as well).

Those are two great spaces, Jenny, and I know you’re looking forward to your son coming home and messing his room up! I totally agree that blue and white are great bedroom colors (mine is similar to yours); they’re so peaceful. Thanks for collaborating again on this year’s tour and merry (early) Christmas!

Thank you Laura! I too am approaching storage unit level with my Christmas decor! I should do a serious clean out of stuff, really. It’s getting ridiculous! I understand the frustration of a stress fracture – I had a femoral stress fracture when I was marathon training once, and it was AWFUL. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t train. But, there will be more races – best to take care of it before it gets worse!

Thank you Cristina! I love the light that a Christmas tree gives – it’s just perfect, isn’t it? I wish there was a way to replicate it all year long!
