The “Get Organized” Blog Hop + An Unconventional Storage Idea

Hello!

I’m joining forces with a group of bloggers this week in a “Get Organized” Blog Hop, which will feature all sorts of spaces that will surely inspire you to get your own home organized.  I know that I am looking forward to it!  I’ll be sharing my laundry room tomorrow, but today I’m sharing a mini-organization idea that I’m really excited about, as it’s something that’s a little outside of the box in terms of what you would typically expect.  This post contains some affiliate links.

Let me elaborate.  I’m heading out to my annual scrapbooking trip this week, and it’s a time that I’m pulling together all of my supplies and goodies to haul up there to get my creative juices flowing.  And there is A LOT of stuff.  It’s really kind of nuts, the amount of things that I’ve accumulated over the years, but you just never know what you’re going to need, and I’ve become a bit of a paper hoarder, I’ll admit.  I used to carry a lot of my stuff in a traditional scrapbook rolling tote similar to this one.  But it really didn’t hold that much stuff when it came down to it.

So, I stepped outside of the box and am trying something new this year.  If this toolbox looks familiar, it’s because I have another one that I use to house all of my painting tools and supplies.  I LOVE it.  It holds a ton of stuff, and easily rolls around on wheels, which is great.  Plus, it’s a lot less expensive than many of the scrapbooking totes on wheels, which is a bonus.

Craft Supply Organizer

I’ve just started organizing some of my scrapbooking supplies, but you can see how roomy this thing is.  And this is a great option if you don’t have a designated space for craft supplies in general.  It’s compact, easily mobile and again, holds a lot of stuff.

This top tray is great for scissors, pens, etc… and then it’s removable, for even more storage space.

Tada!  See what I mean?  Great stuff.  My all time favorite toolbox for more reasons than one.

So, if you’re looking to be inspired this week, be sure to check out all of the great organized spaces on the docket this week!  Today you can see an awesome office at 11 Magnolia Lane, and tips on keeping your kids’ closets organized over at Domestic Charm.  My office is beyond atrocious right now – it has somehow become a dumping ground for all of the crap that no one wants to properly organize.  I’m seriously thinking my office would be better served as a storage room.  Sad, really.

Get ready to be inspired.  Have you been bitten by the organizing bug?  This time of year, it just seems to come with the territory, doesn’t it?  I just want to empty my house and start over…

My daughter is a competitive dancer and we have been using this type of rolling toolbox for years to take to competitions. Great idea!

Even better Melissa! Great idea – I swear, everyone should have one of these toolboxes in their home. The possibilities are endless!

This is a great organization tip. Scrapbooking is such a great hobby but does have a lot of supplies. Where do you store your paper? Do you put it in the bottom section of do you have a great idea for the storage of paper as well?

I have a rolling cart with about six slots for paper. I’m a bit of a paper hoarder that way. But, I do also store some paper (in the packs) in the bottom of the rolling tool box.
