Outdoor Decor for Fall

Hello!

Now that it’s October, I feel like I’m justified in decorating the exterior of our home with  pumpkins and mums.  Never mind that it’s supposed to be 80+ degrees tomorrow.  Next week they’re promising cooler temps.  Not that I’m in a hurry, because I know winter isn’t far behind.

So, let’s enjoy the Autumn beauty while we can, shall we?

I made this chalkboard after discovering this amazing tutorial at eighteen25.  Who knew you could find sheets of chalkboard at Home Depot?  Apparently the people who work at Home Depot didn’t even know it, because two of them told me they only sold chalkboard paint.  Determined, I went online and found the exact aisle that had it, marched in and bought two sheets!  My daughter is anxiously awaiting a new chalkboard for her room.

The pot sitting next to it was a $1 yard sale find that I spruced up with two tones of chalk paint.

I’m embarrassed to admit the inordinate amount of time that I wasted spent working on the lettering for this thing.  But, it’s so. cute.  And having chalkboard markers like these, (affiliate link) make it a bit easier.

I’m in love with the yellow mums this year.  Such a bright punch of fall to perk up your curb appeal.

I have a feeling I’ll be adding more to this outdoor décor (must have white pumpkins), but I’m loving it for now.  Fall is such a beautiful season, I’m going to soak in every bit of it.
