Mini Fall Homearama Tour: House #2

Hello!

I hope you all enjoyed the first Homearama tour – are you ready for another?  First, here are the details:

The Hadleigh
Builder: HBS Development Inc.
Square Footage: 10,000 sq. ft.
Price: $1.4M (sold)

This home was built for a family with three young boys.  It sits high on a hill, and has beautiful view of the fall foliage (even on a dreary day).

Upon entering the home, the dining room is on the left (with a lovely butler’s pantry just beyond), and beautiful hardwood floors.

I love this butler’s pantry – the glass panels, the dark wood and the contrast with the granite.  So pretty.

To the right you’ll find a stunning, wide staircase, with a huge window that lets in tons of natural light.

The most beautiful detail is when you look up and see this paneled barreled ceiling.

Straight ahead is the two-story family room.  It’s a soaring space, but all I could think about was the near-white carpet, and the fact that the family has three young boys.  I suspect they’ll have to keep the ropes up so that the boys don’t walk on the carpet. 😉

Then we made our way into the amazing kitchen.  We spent a lot of time drooling over this beautiful space.  It’s just gorgeous.

I mean, would you just look at that island?  They gave us the dimensions, but I can’t remember them – should have written them down.  Suffice to say it’s just huge.  I’ve never seen an island this big!

You can see that the kitchen opens up to the family room.

There is a cozy area off of the kitchen that looks great for snuggling up and reading a book, or watching tv.

Outside you get a glimpse of the not-quite-finished pool area.  The weather didn’t cooperate with their cement pouring schedule.

And a peek at the outdoor fireplace beneath a covered porch.  Perfect!

I could see doing some really fun entertaining in this house.  Especially during the summer months.

A large pantry –

With room for a fridge.  Nice!

A pretty powder room.  I love the granite in this bathroom – it’s so striking with the color scheme.

As we headed toward the master bedroom, we got a peek at the office area.  More beautiful windows, high ceilings and gorgeous hardwood floors.

The master bedroom –

It even has its own little outdoor area to drink your morning coffee.

And a view out to the pool – which will be lovely once its finished.

Beautiful master closet –

Into the master bathroom.

You see so much in the way of white cabinetry these days, it was nice to see the dark cabinets and the contrast with the lighter colored tile.

A large, gorgeous space with so much storage!

And an amazing shower.

Yes, please.

Then we headed downstairs.

A great bar area.

Access to the outdoors –

Actually, access from more than one area, which is great if you’re coming inside from the pool.

There is a bathroom nearby too – check out the shower floor.

There is a lovely guest room down here as well.

With an attached bathroom –

Double vanities included.

Then we headed upstairs:

To the kids’ rooms –

It just goes on and on.

With a great attached bathroom.

And a kid-accessible closet.  Great idea!

We made our way to the other side of the house – across the catwalk.

To another bedroom – more built-ins, which I love.

And a huge attached bathroom (with more built-ins – do you see them next to the toilet?).

And the nursery –

There is also an upstairs laundry, which is handy.

I really like how they did the cabinets above the washer/dryer area.  Loads of storage!

There is a back staircase near the upstairs laundry room, which leads down to the mud room area.

Along with the main level laundry room.  Love.

Another powder room.

And even some additional locker-style storage near the garage, in addition to the mud room!

The built the garage to handle a basketball hoop for winter playing – so smart.  My boys would love this!

There are four garages in total, with separate entrances to the house.  Off one of the garages is a shower area.

I’m thinking this is where they hose the boys down before they come in the house, so they don’t mess up the carpet! 🙂

So there you have it!  What do you think of this home?  It’s huge, and I can’t imagine the upkeep involved, but there are so many beautiful elements.  My favorite is the kitchen, by far!  Stunning!

Wow! That looks like a really fine and luxurious house, balanced out by the promise of a pool that will bring you your much needed relaxation and respite. The family who will live in there is so lucky. Thanks for sharing that home tour! More power to you!
