Homearama Home Tour – Day 3

Hello!

Time for House #3 on the Homearama Virtual Home Tour – The Craftsman.  I really love the craftsman style in homes, so this home’s exterior was my favorite of all of the homes there.

Isn’t is charming?

Cute front porch with some gorgeous planters, and I love the red transom windows.

And the door.  I made the guy who was hosting this house close the door so I could take a picture.  It’s just drop dead gorgeous, isn’t it?  I’m a smitten kitten.

Another shot of the red window – such a great impact.

Once inside, you’re greeted with modern artwork, slate tile and a striking banister surrounding the stairs that lead to the basement. Notice the copper caps on the newel posts.

Then we looked UP.  What a gorgeous copper ceiling!

To the right was the home office.  The floor to ceiling windows in this house were just stunning.  While I love the look of crisp white trim, the woodwork in this home was absolutely gorgeous.

When you walk to the back of the home, you enter the heart of the home – an open spanse of space with the kitchen, family room and dining area.  The copper is repeated in the kitchen backsplash

The stone work in the kitchen is reflected in the beautiful fireplace and I love the wood beam along the ceiling.

This sectional really caught my eye as well.  My girlfriend and I agreed that it just looks sturdy, but had great structure and details – love the turned wood feet on it.  I could see a family curling up together and watching a movie on this sectional.  And the rug is a great accent.  It’s not pictured, but there was a swivel chair in this room as well.  I am really loving swivel chairs lately – they’re just great for open, multi-purpose spaces.

This is the dining area off the kitchen.  Again, gorgeous windows, framing a beautiful view to the backyard.  This house definitely had the prettiest view out of all of them.  And really, not many of these homes had both casual and formal dining room spaces, and I liked that.  You didn’t need it with the way this home was designed – it would have been a waste of space.
I haven’t shared a whole lot of outdoor spaces in these homes, because they really haven’t been anything to blog write home about.  But I loved this outdoor area – not only the furniture, but the view and the glass double doors that opened up right off the family room.
Here is the master bedroom space – similar set up to others on the tour.

And again – the gorgeous windows.  I just couldn’t get enough of them!

Master bathroom – pretty tub with more beautiful woodwork.

Beautiful vanity and I liked the framed mirror in here.  One thing I did notice about this home is the interior doors (although I don’t have any great photos – but you can sort of see it in the bathroom below).  They were very plain and had a modern look to them with a brushed nickel handle-type of “doorknob” – almost like an office door.  I didn’t like it – didn’t jive with the craftsman style to me – especially after seeing such an impressive front door and beautiful windows with such great details.

Another walk-in/walk-through closet.

Leading to a cute laundry room space.  Great dirt-hiding floors in here too.

Another cute mud room space with door knob hooks.

In the basement, there was a nice media room space.

Cool flowy tile in the basement bathroom.

And the bar area completes the space.

So, what do you think?  Like it?  Love it?  Dislike?
