Homearama 2020 Favorites

So, my normal Homearama 2020 tour was canceled this summer, but another tour came up in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago, so I jumped at the chance to go.  Homearama is always a fun highlight of the summer, and I always enjoy seeing the trends and sharing them with you.  This year’s Homearama was different in terms of the location and styles of the homes, but the design was still fun to see.  These homes had more of an city vibe, with lots of outdoor spaces that take advantage of the river views.  All of them were 3-4 stories tall, and didn’t boast the large lots that we’re used to seeing.  But today I’m going to share some of my Homearama 2020 favorites.

The Berkley
Price: $1.3M
Square Footage: 4,900 sq. ft.
Builder:  Sterling Homes
Designer:  Designs on Madison

This home was definitely my favorite of the tour.  The great thing about it is that even though the setting is more of a city-vibe, the house still felt warm and welcoming.  I’ve been a fan of both the builder and the designers over the years in seeing them at various Homearama tours.  The designers are due some serious kudos because the style was perfection.  I have seen their work on other homes, and love what I see with each home that they do.

Let’s start with the exterior – it definitely has a sophisticated look, doesn’t it?  And the window boxes just add to the curb appeal.

Upon entering the home, the office is to the right.  It’s not a large space, but it’s so well appointed and welcoming.  Not to mention  the pretty windows that bring in a lot of light and offer something to look at while you’re working.  And I love the cabinet color and touches of brass.

Once you step inside, you get the full effect of how beautiful this space is.  It’s a perfect home for entertaining, with lots of space to move around, separate areas, but still open and conducive to large gatherings.

I love the mix of painted cabinets and wood tones in here.  And that built-in hutch along the wall is just such a beauty!

And when I say this house takes advantage of outdoor entertaining space, I’m not kidding.  How great is this outdoor patio area that opens up to be part of the main house?  Especially on these days where the weather offers some warm days to take advantage of it.

The family room carries over some of the same finishes and adds to the cozy home feel.

There is a pretty bathroom on this level with striking wallpaper and more wood and brass finishes that tie to the home’s cohesive design.

The molding in this home was on point as well.  Not to mention the gorgeous light fixtures.

The homes in this tour had true master suites.  Most had a double door entry, that leads you in to a vestibule of sorts, with his and hers closets on either side, the master bedroom and then the master bathroom.

Rich, moody cabinetry was another trend that I noticed on this tour.  It’s the perfect contrast in this beautiful master bathroom

On the top floor, there is another entertaining area, with loads of space to hang out, both inside and outside.

Beautiful views off one of the upper decks.

And a spiral staircase on the other rooftop deck.

And in case that’s not enough, the spiral staircase leads you up to a cozy lounging space.

All of these homes offered elevators, which really is a must if you have 3-4 levels in your home, right?  The garage is actually at the back of the house, so now I’m going to take you to the entry from the garage level on the ground floor.

How perfect is this?  I love the tile work, the space to hang coats and throw shoes, and the height of the ceilings.

And then there’s this amazing studio type of space off to the left.  The ceilings down here were insane!  Such a cool, hip look, isn’t it?

Do you love this home as much as I do?
