Gift Guide for Teen Boys + Giveaways Galore!

Hello!

I’m participating in a gigantic gift guide palooza organized by Jeanette at Snazzy Little Things (what a huge undertaking).  There is a gift guide for every possible person on your holiday list at the end of this post, and each blogger has a giveaway.  I’m talking over $4000 in giveaways people!  I told you it was a palooza.

Being the mother of two teen boys, I have to admit that I sometimes miss the days where I could walk down the toy aisle and buy a bunch of “big” gifts that didn’t break the bank.  Think trucks, cars, mini basketball hoops.  As they get older, it’s all about the technology – smaller gifts, bigger price tags it seems.  So, after polling my own teen boys and some of their friends, this is what I’ve come up with for teen boys – at a variety of price points.  I’m also doing a Gift Guide for Stocking Stuffers, since we always need those.  This post contains affiliate links, you can view my full privacy policy here.

Beats Headphones
In keeping with the music theme, if they’re not playing music through a speaker, they’re listening to it via headphones.  And Beats are the headphones of choice among teen boys it seems.  If you want to make them extra cool, you can go with the Wireless Beats version of these headphones.

Wahl All in One Trimmer
If your teen has (or is getting) facial hair, this Wahl All in One Trimmer is a great way for them to tame their man-beards.  My oldest kept borrowing my husband’s, so we got him one of his own, and he uses it all the time.

And there are lots of grooming accessories that come with it.

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker
Granted, I would like one of these Bose Bluetooth Speakers for Christmas, but I know that music is a high priority among teen boys, and getting some good sound goes hand in hand.  I have heard these speakers firsthand, and they sound amazing.  One of my friends had one playing in her home, and I thought it was the surround sound speakers playing.  True story.

“Swegway”
Now, with this next gift, let me remind you that I polled teen boys and am reporting my findings.  Don’t shoot the messenger.  This is actually on my 14 year-old’s list (not that he’s getting it), but it’s on his list.  He calls it a Swegway.  It’s basically like a Segway without the handles.  It is pretty cool, I have to give him that.  I don’t know if he could actually ride/control it, but if he could, it would be neat.

It’s not an Apple Watch, but a much more reasonably priced alternative.  This smart watch allows you to get things like SMS, caller id and email notifications.  Sounds like a win to me. Oh yeah, and it tells time too.  #Winning

While we live in a digital world, kids are also coming to appreciate having an instant photo in their hands, and going vintage.  This Polaroid Instant Camera takes me back to the days when we had them and loved the instant gratification of a photo just minutes after you took it.  The great thing about this is that it’s reasonably priced, and is a lot of fun.

Xbox One
You knew this gift guide wouldn’t be complete without video games in some way shape or form.  The Xbox One is a fan favorite around here, along with the FIFA 2016 game.  This package gives you everything – Xbox + FIFA 2016.

If your teen is (gulp) driving, this Wireless Bluetooth FM Transmitter serves as a charger as well as a way to Bluetooth music to your car, (which is handy if you don’t have a “modern” car, and have to kick it old school with a radio).  As long as your teen understands that you shouldn’t be able to hear the bass from their car speakers as they drive down the street.
Teens drain battery life on their phones faster than anyone I know, and this little portable phone charger comes in handy if they’re stuck somewhere and can’t plug in to charge up their phones.  No excuses for being inaccessible, right?
So how is that for a start to shopping for a teen boy?  Not too bad, right?
My giveaway for this gift guide is a $43 gift certificate to Catching Fireflies!
