Happy Friday!
I hope you’ve had a great week as we head towards the weekend. Next week is our spring break, but alas, I will be here. In Ohio. It’s fine though, I have plenty to do, and it’s nice having some down time. Plus, the weather is supposed to be nice (although right now it feels like Old Man Winter doesn’t want to go quietly into the goodnight). Hard to believe that I just mowed the grass yesterday with the way the wind and cold are kicking into high gear today. Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s Friday 5+1! Rocksolid Floor Coatings
This Rocksolid metallic floor coating caught my eye when I was at Menard’s today, and thought it was way cool and worth sharing. The finishes look spectacular! The pearlescent finish looks really pretty too.
Lorac Pro Matte Palette
Now, I’m a big fan of the large LORAC Pro Palette, but I just bought this cute little LORAC Pro Matte Palette – it’s smaller, but I will use all of these colors (on the occasions that I actually wear makeup). I like that their eye shadows stay put and don’t wear off easily, like some other eye shadows do. I’ve bought their palettes on more than one occasion, and have always been pleased with the results.
Rub ‘n Buff
I swear, I’ve used this stuff in the past, but Rub ‘n Buff does not disappoint. I tried cleaning the old hardware on this piece of furniture, but to no avail. I cleaned and scrubbed, and then used Rub n’ Buff to get it just the way I want it. Now I just need to finish the top of this dresser, and it will be ready to go. Here’s a sneak peek – I love the gold against the gray.
Paint Chip Goodness
I have shared on many occasions that my paint guy is a paint guru. He’s been in the business for years, and just knows a lot of stuff about paint/products/etc… For example, did you know that shellac is made from the lac beetle? Yes, it’s true. These are the sorts of things that my paint guy knows. And he was nice enough to give me these awesome cases filled with oversized paint swatches. How cool is that?

My oldest is headed out for spring break, so I gave him his Easter basket early, and a sugar high ensued. I never should have opened the bag.

April 7, 2017 at 12:52 pmOMG! That’s a Henry Link Bali Hai piece of furniture that that handle belongs to. I would know because I have one of the nightstands that I finished in an antique silver. AND I used gold Rub ‘n Buff on the handle, too! The handles are one of the best parts but do you believer another blogger replaced the handles on her nightstands?! And yes, the gold looks wonder on the silver or gray. I also have the Henry Link 9-drawer dresser to finish if I keep it. I originally bought it to use as a media center but ended up with something else. I look forward to seeing the dresser that you just finished, Jenny.
