Favorite Posts of 2014

Hello!

I hope you had a great Christmas and are ready for the new year ahead.  I definitely am!  I have had more than my fair share of eating, drinking and merry making, so it will be nice to get back to a normal routine again soon.

In the meantime, let’s take a look back at my favorite posts of 2014, shall we?

My “How to Stain Without Pain” projects are definitely popular ones, and I love that they were so much easier than stripping down to bare wood and starting from scratch.  I have more of these to share in 2015, but my breakfast bar definitely turned out great.

My cabinet painting tutorial is still my most popular post of all, but this “Tips and Tricks for Painting Oak Cabinets” is a good one for anyone tackling their builder grade kitchen or bathroom.

In keeping with painting oak cabinets, minimizing the grain is something that goes hand in hand with that job.  Take a peek at one method to aid in that process.

Paint colors continue to be a hobby/obsession of mine, and with gray being such a popular paint color these days, this Color Case Study: Shades of Gray post might be useful.  I know that I agonized over 10+ samples before making a decision on a paint color for my family room.

You know I also love gallery walls, and my instant chalkboard gallery wall is one of my favorites.

Now that the new year is upon us, organizing is on my brain, which is why I need to add my K-Cup Organizing Drawer to this list.  Seeing those cups all lined up just makes me happy.

I shared a flashback of my paint colors from last year and how they have changed since I repainted.  Still totally loving my new shade of Revere Pewter!

I love sharing the Homearama tours each year, and this year did not disappoint!  In case you missed it, take a look at this year’s tour.

Bargains and Buyouts continues to be my favorite place to score the best. deals. ever.  I have more to share with you in the new year, and a peek at their new store proves it is worth the trip!

I know you’re all holiday-ed out, but I still love my high impact, low budget mantel, using a reclaimed door from our local Reclamation and Restoration salvage yard.

I loved our second annual 12 Days of Christmas Blogger Tour of Homes, and while my house is now bare and sparse with the holiday decorations put away, it sure is fun to see everyone’s homes all dressed up, isn’t it?  And don’t forget all of the homes that were linked up here.

I have a lot of exciting stuff to come this year, and look forward to sharing it all with you.  Thanks so much for following along with my blog – I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

Happy New Year!

So many fantastic projects Jenny! I love the instant chalkboard gallery wall. I need to remember that as the one on the side of our frig cabinet is super long and I never seem to put anything in the top portion. It would be a great spot for recent pictures of the girls. I also love all the house tours and paint inspiration.
    Happy New Year to you!!
