Favorite Finds for Amazon Prime Day

Today is Amazon Prime Day, so it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of some deals, whether it’s something you need now, for the upcoming school year, or even some early Christmas shopping.  I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds for Amazon Prime Day, and I hope you’re able to score something on your own wish list.  This post contains some affiliate links.

BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Flat Iron

Don’t be fooled by my short hair – if I let it dry naturally, or if I simply blow dry it and let it go, it has a mind of its own and the natural curl in my hair comes out to play.  I use this BabylissPro Nano Titanium Flat Iron on my hair, as well as my daughter’s long hair, and it gives a gorgeous and smooth finished look.

Cooling Mattress Topper

I have dorm rooms on the brain, so we’ve started shopping for all of the essentials, and I consider a good mattress topper an essential.  I had one when I was in college, and it really makes all the difference.  And mattress toppers have come a long way, baby.   Going from home to a dorm room is a big change to begin with, so why not make your bed as comfy as possible?  A good friend of mine also has a son starting college in the fall, and recommended this one, so I’m going with it.  It got good reviews, and I love the cooling factor as well.  My kid is a big one for comfort, let me tell you, so I’m willing to make sure he gets a good night’s sleep so there is ample time to study.

Instant Pot

Have you heard of these instant pots?  My favorite fitness instructor has shared recipes that she’s made with hers (including a whole roasted chicken), and I recently read an article in the Wall Street Journal about them as well.  It’s not just a slow cooker, it’s a “multicooker” – a 7-in-1 combination pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté, yogurt Marker and warmer (and it prepares meals up to 70% faster).   I hear that the yogurt is off the charts amazing.  With more than 19,000 reviews and 4.5 stars on Amazon, it has to be pretty good, right?

I’m hoping to pick one up myself, as I can use all of the help I can get in the cooking department.

Cherry Pitter

I just picked up my first bag of oh-so-awesome cherries this summer, which is why I have a cherry pitter on my mind.  My mom made an amazing fruit salad with delicious pitted cherries, which has this little number on my favorite summer gadget list.Cherry Pitter

If you’re looking to knock out a bunch of cherries at once, this cherry pitter is your man.  I’ve shared it before, but I found it in via Cook’s Illustrated – the experts in all things cooking, if you ask me.  They’ve never steered me wrong.

Fit Flops – My Favorite Summer Sandal

I’m on my second summer with my Fit Flops, and I love them.  They’re like walking on one of those squishy kitchen mats – that’s the best way I can think to describe them.  They’re supportive, not flimsy, and so super comfy.  My husband even commented yesterday, that he knew it was me coming in the door, because he could hear my flip flops.  So yes, I wear them all. the. time.  Great Amazon Prime Day deals on these sandals, so grab them in time for summer vacation!  Lots of colors and styles too.

Garmin Fenix 3 GPS Watch

Do you have an athlete (or an aspiring athlete) in your family?  This is a great deal on a Garmin GPS watch for running, biking or swimming (or even all three at once if you have a triathlete).  I bought a Garmin multisport watch for my husband for his birthday in May, and he loves it.  Great deal on this one – snap it up for the holidays.

Love my instant pot. Hard cooked eggs are my favorite. Takes about as long as the stove top method, but the shells peel so easily under running water with the instant pot. Shredded chicken is quick/easy and we like macaroni and cheese fixed in it. I prefer my oval slow cooker for bigger chickens but smaller ones work well in the IP. Friends swear the rice cooked in the IP is better than their rice cooker. Haven’t tried making yogurt but if you do, hope you’ll let us know! My husband bought a Ring video doorbell today. He’s been eyeing them for a few months and just couldn’t resist Amazon’s deal today.

I keep reading about the hard boiled eggs – I’m really intrigued! I have a rice cooker (an old one), so it would be nice to have an all-in-one cooker to replace it!
