An Amazing Home Remodel Tour – Part 2

I am so glad that you all enjoyed part one of Amanda’s amazing home remodel, and I’m sure you can see why I decided to break it up into two posts.  There was just so much in the way of transformation to absorb and appreciate.  And I promise you’ll get even more of that in today’s post – the changes and updates that they made upstairs in this home.  This post contains some affiliate links.

As you make your way upstairs, you’re greeted with this awesome bonus space, complete with an inviting fireplace.  You really could do just about anything with it – bedroom, playroom, second family room, or an amazing home office.

They went the route of turning it into an amazing home office for two.

I give them credit for being able to share an office space and have it look this fantastic.  Amazing Home Remodel-2

The rest of the bedrooms are upstairs as well.  We’ll start with the kids’ bedrooms:Tour: Amazing Home Remodel

What’s really amazing (and fantastic) about this remodel, is that so much of it is just paint and flooring.

Down the hall is the bathroom that the kids share.  Here it is before:Tour: Amazing Home Remodel

And now –

Gorgeous vanity is from Home Depot, and how cute is that little whale rug?  And the flooring is vinyl my friends.

There’s another large bedroom just down the hall –Tour: Amazing Home Remodel Tour: Amazing Home Remodel

And look at what an awesome boy’s bedroom it is now.  Plenty of room for two full sized beds, and so stylish to boot.

From here, we head into the master bedroom.  Again, it’s a great size, with plenty of room to make it into a true sanctuary.  Let’s look at some of the before photos:

Now I think we can all agree that it’s a master retreat, yes?  I knew Amanda was a kindred spirit when I saw her bedding – I have the same duvet in my bedroom. 🙂  It’s the Charlie Paisley Bedding from Pottery Barn.

Now, on to the master bathroom.  Here is where it started – it’s images like this that haunt me and prevent me from adding wallpaper back into my own home.

There is also a shower/toilet area in here that is separate.

Along with a new and improved vanity area:

And that floor?  It’s vinyl.  Awhile back I remember spotting it at Menards and did a double take.  They had some issues with the subfloor, so vinyl was the best option.  It looks great!

As I suspected, lots of you were asking about the gorgeous laminate floors that they have throughout.  Amanda was kind enough to share the source, along with her paint colors.  But first things first – the flooring is Mannington Restorations – Historic Oak Charcoal.  I might have to schedule time with our mutual “flooring guy” and talk to him about laminate floors, because I am blown away, and I think wood laminate deserves a post all its own, don’t you?  You can see my post on luxury vinyl trends here, so it’s only fair to give laminate equal time, right?

And I promised a color palette as well.  Here are the colors, and the rooms that they’re in are listed below.  You can see that these are some tried and true colors that just work well together, and give your home a seamless flow and a great backdrop for your own design and decor to show through.

Whole House Remodel Color Palette

Sunroom, Boy’s Bathroom – Chelsea Gray Benjamin Moore

Laundry Room/Master Bedroom/Master Bathroom -Moonshine Benjamin Moore

Family room/Kitchen – Pale Oak Benjamin Moore

Living room/Dining room – Ethereal Mood Sherwin Williams

Foyer, Stairs and Upstairs Hall – Revere Pewter Benjamin Moore

Office/First Floor Powder Room – Stonington Gray Benjamin Moore

Little Boy’s Room – Agreeable Gray Sherwin Williams

Exterior – White Dove Benjamin Moore  and Dorian Gray Sherwin Williams

I hope you all enjoyed this tour as much as I did.  Someone asked how long it took for them to do the work – they bought the house in February, and here we are now, into November, so they knocked out this transformation pretty quickly!

They really did an amazing job with this house! I already pinned the boys rooms…it’s always so hard to find inspiration for boys! What a beautiful home!

They really have done a beautiful job of updating their home. I cannot get over the vinyl flooring. It’s gorgeous. My youngest has been looking at homes and says she is seeing it more and more. And, so appreciate her sharing her paint colors as well.

Thank you for sharing this lovely home! I really appreciate how much hard work they put into it–and it paid off. Also, thank you for sharing the name/color of the flooring. I’m off to look for it today!
