If you’re looking for some fun and creative gift wrapping ideas, you’re in the right place! Today I’m rounding up a bunch of unique gift wrapping ideas for the holidays, and I’m sure you’ll find something that will inspire you to change things up this season. Even if you put some of these ideas to use for just one person, it’s fun to do something different isn’t it? And I know that I always appreciate a gift that is wrapped in a way that’s a bit unusual, right?
Add Photos
I love this idea of adding photos to a gift from Lovely Etc. Photographs personalize a gift in a way that nothing else does. Look at how she created a watercolored photo (via the Waterlogue app), and affixed it to a simply wrapped gift with a little added embellishment. So cute and so special. I would love to receive a gift with a watercolored photo of my kids when they were little! That would be as special as any gift that was inside. See more of her great ideas here.
Free Printables
You all know that I have a love of anything that involves cars/trucks + trees when it comes to holiday decorating. So, these free printable gift boxes from Lolly Jane are right up my alley. What a great idea for homemade treats for teachers, neighbors or friends. (Tree not included, but you can add your own). 🙂
How about some free, fun, plaid printable gift tags? Craving Some Creativity is sharing free printable gift tags that are the perfect addition to an otherwise simply wrapped gift. They really pop against the brown craft paper, don’t they? Add some greenery from your yard, with some pretty twine and we’re ready to go! A fun way to wrap a hostess gift, or something special for a friend.
Here’s another take on gift tags from Craftivity Designs. These simple and classic “Night Before Christmas” gift tags are pretty, yet minimalist all at the same time. They make a statement, even against bold wrapping paper. A nice switch from simple wrapping paper with bold embellishments, yes?
Embellish
If you’re dealing with brown craft paper or plain gift bags, don’t worry! You can add your own custom embellishment to make it special. Look at how some otherwise plain gift bags and boxes were made pretty from H20 Bungalow. She pulled these together with the help of a roller stamp – who knew? And I always love gifts that are personalized with monograms, don’t you?
Satori Design for Living gives a vintage glam take on gift wrapping with some pre-made gift tags, customized with her own embellishments. I just love the idea of taking something simple and really making it unique with your own creativity.
Add Something Edible
It’s the season of gifts and goodies, so why not add something edible to your gifts this year? DIY Beautify did just that, adding gingerbread to her gifts as an extra sweet touch.
I’ll admit it, that oftentimes, I’m a last minute gift wrapper, but I really love all of these ideas, and I’m hoping to incorporate some of them, somewhere this year. Just remember, it doesn’t have to be all or none. Sometimes, even one gift, wrapped with thoughtful intention is enough. 🙂
Do you get creative with your gift wrapping?

December 10, 2018 at 4:29 pmNo doubt! You and me both! I think my best bet is to go creative with a hostess or a friend’s gift. The rest of the family probably wouldn’t appreciate it nearly as much! Maybe my daughter – she would appreciate it. 🙂
