Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t)

Hello!

Happy Friday friends!  Are you gearing up for Thanksgiving?  I’m hosting this year, and am in a bit of denial about it, quite frankly.  With any luck, I’m hoping to beat the crowds and buy my turkey today.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve done a 5+1, so let’s get right to it!

Southern Living Gingerbread House
I’m a wee bit obsessed with custom gingerbread houses right now, and this Southern Living one is just too good not to share.  How cool is this?  Can you imagine how long it would take to put one of these together?  Incredible!

Amazing Paint Store
I want to visit this Japanese paint store – they have their walls lined with 4,200 different pigments.  The paint geek in me is coming out, I know.

Decorated Christmas Cookies
Getting back to the subject of cookies – every year, one of my girlfriends and I try to get together to decorate Christmas cookies.  It’s a fun day to just chat and decorate, and I’m already looking forward to doing it this year.  She’s a big baker and always does a fantastic job of mixing the frosting so that they turn out looking professional.

So, I’ve been looking for inspiration.  How cute are these?  I love everything cars and trucks + Christmas trees, so these are right up my alley.

We did do cute mitten cookies like these from Bee in our Bonnet:

The Lettermate
I thought this Lettermate was a cute idea to make your holiday cards look custom – or at the very least, straight.

They give some great inspiration on their site, as well as some tips to get a good result.

Designer Tack Bulletin Board
After finishing my daughter’s room for the One Room Challenge, I stumbled upon this Designer Tackboard at Menard’s, and I wish I had discovered it sooner!  It’s a great size to begin with (32″ x 48″), and it’s easy to cut into different shapes and sizes.  You can check out their ideas on their website.

My +1 thing that I don’t like is reward cards.  I’m not talking about the ones on your keychain, but the ones that are like business cards that need to be stamped or hole punched or something.  For the life of me, I can’t keep track of them, and I wish they would just do it all electronically, so I can finally get my free bag of dog food that I know I have coming to me.

Have a great weekend!

That Gingerbread house is amazing, I did one a couple of years back but no where near that and no where near the picture on the box too! It's tough doing that, I'll stick with cookies 🙂 Yay on the rewards card too!
