Reader Kitchen Redos + Impromptu Project Link Up

Hello!

One of my favorite things about blogging is when I receive emails from inspired readers who share the projects they’ve tackled.   It’s proof positive of the power of DIYing.

Take Michelle, as an example.  She sent me an email saying:

“I must confess, this time last year we were like best
friends. I spent every evening I can remember, reading your blog and following
everything you did when painting your kitchen. Thank you for inspiring me and
seeing me through this huge project which has transformed my kitchen and made
fall in love with it!!”

Can I just tell you how much I love hearing this?  Michelle was kind enough to send me some photos of her hard work, and I knew you’d enjoy seeing it as much as I did.  Here is a before shot of her kitchen:

And the after:

In another area of the kitchen, she got super creative.  Here is the before:

 And the after:

What did she do?  She picked up this great thrift store find and incorporated it as a custom buffet piece in her kitchen.  Great job!

I received some more before and after photos from another reader, Dustin.  He tackled his oak kitchen, giving it a refresh with paint, cabinet hardware, new appliances, counter tops, and new flooring.

Here are the before photos he sent:

And the afters:

Great work!

As for me, I’m starting work on a new cabinet job.  Can’t wait to see this one transformed.  They have already invested in granite counters, a tile backsplash, new appliances, and an island redo, so the cabinets will finish it off beautifully.

We’re also discussing ideas for a new wall color to tie it all together, and they are looking to refinish the floors as well.

What are you working on right now?  If you have a project you’d like to share, link it up!

How fun to see kitchen renos that you inspired! I love that china cabinet hutch upcycle – I wanted my parents in law to use the top of their old china cabinet over built in cabinetry for a bar, such a great way to reuse an outdated piece of furniture! Wish I had a project to link up but I am dealing with ice damming on my roof instead. Oh the joys of winter 🙂

What amazing transformations. Love her thrifted piece. So creative. Also, loving two color cabinet scheme.

Nice! The floorings all look simple, precise and direct. Best of all, they look organic. It may be in the floor color or the tile work, but either complimented the final results. Thanks for sharing that, Jenny! More power to you!

Great transformation – and great idea for a party! Ironically, I am also working on my kitchen…in the planning, obsessing stage… Thanks for hosting!
