Client Kitchen Cabinet Refresh Complete

Hello!

I hope you had a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend.  We had a lovely brunch on Sunday, with lots of relaxation time.  And the rain even held off for a bulk of the day, which was a nice treat, since it was so rainy over much of the weekend.

I finally finished client kitchen that I’ve been telling you about, and wanted to share the results.  Bear in mind that the floors and countertops are still going to be replaced, and walls will be painted, so it’s far from finished.  I included a shot of the new countertop material, so you’ll get a feel for what it will look like when it all comes together.  I told the homeowners that I should stop by when it’s finished!

Ok, let’s get on with it, shall we?

Here are some before shots of their kitchen – oak cabinets (pulls were already removed at this point).

Along with the exposed hinges, which I discussed how we were changing them out here.

Yes, that’s a rigged up microwave you see (the panel on the counter covers it up).  Apparently, there used to be a HUGE range hood there.

And now for the after:

They had already purchased new appliances, but I do think black or stainless would look better with the new backsplash and cabinet color.  But we didn’t want to go bright white with the backsplash either.  I still think it will come together once the other changes are made.

No hinges!

Their new countertop material is on the counter, so you can get an idea of what it will look like when it’s complete.

The flooring is going to look something along these lines.  It’s a longer, rectangle shaped tile – but the color variations that they’re exploring are in this range.  Originally, they were looking at lighter colored tile, but after seeing the cabinets in place, we all agreed that more of a contrast was needed.

A close-up of the countertop.  And notice, no hinges!

I wish I could share the fully complete kitchen, but try to use your imagination in the meantime!

I am not very good at seeing potential, so it is hard for me to love this kitchen. I just don't get why they would go with white appliances when they are spending money to update the kitchen. The white appliances stick out like a sore thumb against the Beautiful cabinets. I guess I just need to see the end result. Great job on the cabinets!!!

I agree. Boo. the cabinets look great but I can't get passed the hardware. Still seems very 80's country. This will be interesting to see complete.

I have to agree…maybe the end result is different than I'm envisioning. I don't think the color of the paint nor the hardware did anything but date the original cabinetry. I think you did a great job on the actual painting and I do like the hidden hinges. I have to also agree this now appears very 80's country. I do like the concept of painting oak cabinets white but the cream color doesn't compliment the appliances nor the hardware. I'm sure you'll wow me though with the final result – can't wait to see it and eat my words. 🙂

I really like the change that this kitchen went through! It's great to see that just changing the cabinets can make such a difference. My cabinets have gotten very worn out and aren't as nice as they used to be. I might change them so that they stand out more like these! https://discountrtacabinets.com/about/
