One Small Tree, Two Cute Options

Hello!

I can’t resist anymore.  Normally, I wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate, but with the Thanksgiving holiday falling so late, and the snow that’s on the ground, I say it’s a game changer.

So, I lit my Balsam candle from Bath & Body Works, and I’m getting to work!  I have been picking up things here and there for the holidays, and it’s fun putting them to use.

I am digging on different kinds of Christmas trees this year – both big and small.  But mostly small.

I started with a couple of lemon cyprus trees like this one from Lowes (for the sake of discussion, pretend there are no lights on it).

I added lights to them (surprise!).  I found these amazing little lights at Lowes, that are perfect for so many holiday uses – mini-tree decorating included.  They’re battery powered, so you don’t have to worry about the dreaded cord issue.

They remind me of these much more expensive ones from Restoration Hardware.

I put the tree in a bucket I had on hand – let there be light.  Already an improvement.

I added a chalkboard label that I cut out from a roll of chalkboard vinyl from Hobby Lobby.  A much more cost effective means of incorporating chalkboard goodies into your décor!

Option #2:  It’s a Wrap

Same tree, different look.  I bought some festive red burlap at Hobby Lobby and wrapped up the tree the same way I did here for a hostess gift.

I had some “Chalkstock” cards that I tied to the trees with twine.  Cute, yes?

Great to display in your home, or to give as a gift!

So, have you started decorating yet?

I'm in love with your little trees, Jenny! I have to get a few of those, they are so cute! And the lights are great, the cord is barely noticeable. I'm getting so excited to see the tour of your Christmasy home!
