The Ottoman Empire

Happy Monday!

I hope you enjoyed some glorious spring temperatures like we did here.  The kids were outside almost all day, and the snow is all but gone.  It was wonderful to open the windows and let some fresh air into the house for a change.  Of course, all of that playing is going to make for some morning shenanigans with the time change and all.  Should be fun.

Since I’m reworking my daughter’s room, I made a trip to the Ballard Outlet (again), and was pleasantly surprised by the Mother Load of stuff that they had!  I’m hoping this trend continues, as they have been somewhat sparse the past couple of times I’ve visited.

I did make one fantastic score, although it was at Grandin Road, not Ballard.  I seem to have an obsession/fixation with ottomans, and have been searching for The Right One for our family room for awhile now.  But at the same time, our house seems littered with ottomans (I suppose you could say we have a-lot-ottomans), and are afflicted with the Three Bears Syndrome.  They’re either too small, the wrong color, or the wrong height, etc..  This one is just right, in every way.

Here she is…

I’m loving the tufting.  And the price.  Did I mention it was $129?  Awwww yeah.

And the nailhead trim…

And the pretty wooden legs.

Not to mention the color and size – perfect!  I also seem to have a fixation with navy right now.  I just can’t get enough of it!  Did you notice I pulled my pillows from the basement and brought them upstairs?  Oh yes I did.  It’s nice to shop the house and change things around every now and again.

You might have noticed my new little “table” I found at TJ Maxx.  Cute, yes?  How could I refuse at $39.99?  Certainly not me.

Please ignore any ancillary disaster that may be in my breakfast room.  The house is in the midst of a project explosion, and this area is probably the only space that looks semi-presentable at the moment.  But it sure is pretty.

Lots of exciting things coming down the pike in the upcoming weeks – can’t wait to share it all with you!

Love, love, love the ottoman. Navy is probably my favorite color and I wear it more than decorate with it. I gasped when I saw your ottoman. Our outlet hasn't had much of anything good the last couple of visits either.

I literally just came across this ottoman for the first time this weekend and I think I'm ordering it for a client! I recognized it right away when I saw your linky tab at Savvy Southern Style and had to stop by. I thought the price was $250 in the catalogue?!!? I have to look again. I love this ottoman because it has the nice tufting detail, but it isn't too bulky! Only problem, for my clients room, is that I think I might need a square….

It looks awesome in your space!
