Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t)

Happy Friday!

I don’t know where this week has gone – I’ve been super busy putting a client kitchen back together, and can’t wait to share it with you.  It’s going to be amazing.

In the meantime, let’s get going with another Friday 5+1!  This post contains some affiliate links.

Pillows, Pillows, Pillows
I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a pillow hoarder, and no, I’m not seeking help for it.  Actually, I’m not a pillow hoarder, I’m a pillow collector.  So, when Look Here Jane offered to send me some pillow covers, I jumped at the chance to add them to my hoard collection.  I love all of the fabrics they offer, and the ones that I chose (the navy blue graphic fabric) were actually a fabric that I had recently admired at my favorite local fabric store – The Fabric Shack.

They’re a perfect addition to my fall pillow hoard.

Of course, the dogs had to move in on my photo shoot.

Oh, were you doing something here?

Look Here Jane is offering 25% your entire purchase with the coupon code 5THINGS25, good through October 1st.  Check them out – they’re already reasonably priced, and the discount is a bonus!

Cutlery Couture
My friend and I went to the Country Living Fair last Friday, and loved browsing through all of the great vendors.  One that caught my eye and totally drew me in was Cutlery Couture.  A great way to make your table even more charming when you’re entertaining guests.  With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, they’re the perfect addition to your holiday table.

I picked up these for myself.  And yes, that’s a chalkboard label – it was futile to even try to resist.

Some of us in the booth were saying,”I could make these.”  Could you make these yourself?  Yes.  Will I ever try to do it?  No.  The sewing machine makes me break out in hives, so buying them just made sense, and surely saved me from an afternoon of frustration and swearing.

Mumkins
This is, by far, the cutest fundraising idea I’ve ever seen – Mumkins.  Clever, right?  One of my friend’s kids was selling these for cheerleading, and I just love them.  I bought one last year, and added to my collection this year with a new one (and a refill for my other one).

They even added new designs this year – bats (that are hanging baskets – brilliant), and cats too.  I know what I’m getting next year…

Amazon Prime – for $67!
I saw this pop up today, and had to share.  Are you on Amazon Prime yet?  Normally it’s $99, and today it’s being offered for just $67!  Do you know what you get with Amazon Prime?

  • FREE Two-Day Shipping on millions of items
  • Unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs
  • Instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Video
  • Free unlimited photo storage in Amazon Cloud Drive
  • Read free books each month through Kindle First and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library
The free two-day shipping alone makes Amazon Prime a great deal.  Again – the holidays are just around the corner, and if you are starting to resent large crowds the way I am, this may be the way to go.  The offer is only good today, so don’t miss it!
Bathroom Makeovers
This summer I painted a vanity for a friend of mine who was redoing her bathroom.  You may remember her gorgeous character remodel home tour that I featured here and here.
The bathroom is one that her girls share, and I just love how it turned out!  How fantastic is that wallpaper?

And here is my +1 for the week that has been on my mind for awhile, since I keep seeing it.  People who are walking/running or riding their bikes on the wrong side of the road.  In just the past few days, I’ve seen it repeatedly in my own neighborhood.  I’m walking the dogs (walking towards traffic), and another woman is walking her dog towards me (walking with traffic).  I also saw a man on a bike, riding towards traffic.
Don’t even get me started on how many times I saw this while we were on vacation.
So, as a refresher, when you’re walking/running – you do so on the left side of the road – against traffic.   That way, if a driver isn’t paying attention, you’ll see them and can get out of the way.

When you’re on a bike, you ride with traffic, on the right side of the road.  Just pretend you’re a car.

Any questions?
Have a great weekend!

Thanks Sheila! The puppy is a stinker, but you can't say he's lacking in personality! At least he's sleeping through the night now!

I buy the Mumkins from a friend whose daughter sells them for cheerleading. Aren’t they the cutest things ever?
