Homearama 2013: House Tour #6

Hello!

Sorry for the delay in posting this last tour – I feel like I’ve been in a fog the past couple of days.  Headache, exhausted, and just totally out of it – no fun.

Better late than never, though, right?  So, let’s get started!

House #6: The Chateau D’Avoise
Price: $1.2M
Square footage: 6,683 square feet

A stunning exterior – so big that it takes a few shots to get the full picture!

Once inside, the dining room is on the right.  I love pattern, but this seemed like a bit of an overload.  I love the patterned elements individually, but I’m not feeling them all together, you know?

The color on the wall is a deep purple, in case it’s not rendering well in these photos.

There’s even pattern on the ceiling.

The ceiling in the foyer is striking.

To the left is a grand office.  Masculine, like many we have seen, but definitely high drama, with the curvature of the room, high ceiling, paneling and the chandelier is like none I have seen!

Built-ins included.

Straight ahead is the great room, with a beautiful wall of windows.

Large fireplace, but I wish it had a mantel.

The kitchen opens up to the great room.

This kitchen had two stoves – not something you see every day.

This kitchen has two islands as well.  The first one has a deep sink.

Sorry I don’t have a better picture of the second – too many people milling around.  You can kind of see the set up though.  I didn’t see how I would actually use the second island for kitchen prep though – it was kind of out of the way of the main kitchen area.

 A lovely butler’s pantry.

A cute guest room.

On our way to the other side of the house, we passed a half bathroom.

And then to the Mac Daddy of all master suites.  This is the largest master bedroom I’ve seen, like, ever.  It was like a luxury hotel – a sanctuary.

It just goes on and on…

 and on…

I would have a hard time leaving!

The master bathroom was equally gigantic – as you enter through this little vestibule.

It was so big though – lots of wasted space, in my opinion.

But this mirror was awesome.  I love the scale and the function of it.  It worked, given the scale of this bathroom.

And the closet was large enough to be a bedroom in and of itself.

The basement was an entertainer’s dream (and a baseball fan’s as well).  Gorgeous movie watching area.

Perfect bar area.

This homeowner is a huge baseball fan, and had all sorts of amazing baseball paraphernalia.  This room was the “Cincinnati Reds Room” – complete with turnstile and seats from the old Reds stadium.

A perfect spot for watching baseball.

Another seating area in the main downstairs living space.

Pool table.

Poker room.

Three bedrooms down here as well.  Although I’m starting to wonder, what kid in his right mind would want to leave the nest with a basement like this?

Attached bathroom.

Back upstairs – on our way out, we passed the laundry room.

Complete with dog washing area.  Although I had to giggle since my 120 pound mutt would never make it here. 😉

A fun little pin board.

This is a nice feature too – this covered landing from one of the garages to the house – very charming.  You can see that steps lead down to the backyard too.

With a lovely fire pit and outdoor area to round out the tour.

So, there you have it!  I hope you enjoyed all of the Homearama house tours this year.  There is another Homearama planned for this same area next year – I’m already looking forward to it!
