A Peaceful & Project-Filled 2011

2010 was a year full of changes.  And when I say full, I mean FULL – my husband changed firms, the kids changed schools, we moved into a new house, even got a new dog!  I’m hoping that 2011 brings peace in the most basic of ways.  Settling into our new house, feeling less crazed and more centered, getting back to a more basic day-to-day life, if that makes sense.  And with this newfound peace, my goal is to post more to my blog, as I have a lot of projects on the docket.
Here is a little taste of what I’m working on now.  Yes, we started this project LATE on December 23rd, and were up until almost 3 AM – completely lost track of time.  So, we were completely exhausted over the Christmas holiday, but it’s looking good!
Here is a preview…
Ignore the Clifford the Big Red Dog stuffed animal and sneaker on the floor – I was scrambling for some “Before” shots

My hubby stepping in to do the cuts – using his early Christmas gift – a nail gun with air compressor

Boards are hung, priming and painting left to be done

I’m jumping on the board and batten bandwagon.  This is just the first of three spaces that we’ve been working on.  So, I’m heading off to a good start at sharing home projects in 2011, right?
Wishing you a peaceful 2011!
Jenny

love this!! i've actually thought about doing this in a bedroom. what is the height of the board? i noticed your husband is a few inches taller. is there a rule of thumb for height? or is it your own preference? thank you!!
